By  |

Mumbai is known as the dream city and also the city of dreams. Maharashtra is full of waterfalls and the people residing in Mumbai can go out for outings at nearby waterfalls. As we know mumbaikars prefer going away from the bustling and lighted streets.Monsoons are the best time to visit such waterfalls.

Solanpada waterfall is a popular place and the nearest one which makes it easily accessible. Solanpada waterfall in karjat is 26 kilometers from the karjat railway station and 24 kilometers from Neral railway station. This waterfall is built on the solanpada dam which is a beautiful place to visit. .You can travel by your private vehicle or else you can catch up the mini buses from neral station which are available at every 15 minutes. You can get down at a village named Kashele and from their to Jambarug.

According to the local people staying there say that this place is not safe for small childrens and ladies. For your safety you must know to swim in water. Everyone has there different point of view so we recommend you to take risk at your own safety measures. Please carry first aid box in case if any emergency.

Besides Solanpada Waterfall you can also visit to pandavkada waterfall ,Dabhosa waterfall-jawhar & barki waterfall kolhapur. These are also best spots for picnic for one day picnic.
We are not responsible incase if any disaster or accident occures.

Have fun and enjoy a day at Solanpada waterfalls!

There is absolute misrepresentation here. Someone died in this dam. He drowned due to no security. It’s unhygienic and dirty and contaminated. People are developing skin rashes. And breathing problem. It is a propaganda being promoted by locals to fleece you of your money. You are guaranteed to return with a dangerous illness. BEWARE!!!!

go at your own risk.i live there, but im 64,I have stopped going there after I heard about the way there are drunks, all over, teasing girls, even cop was manhandled by some,so dont even think of police protection,or life guards,it is not a picnic place. It is very local, nowhere to stay, use the loo,or eat, unless wada pav suffices, that too from a stall that has no licence, and has only now sprung up after the whatsapp etc.TC

I have read in DNA and found that there is a large private cottage that can house a group of travellers. You can carry your own food stuffs or can have snacks at nearby stalls. Also I asked my friend in Karjat, he said that you can travel anytime there, and its raining slightly over there so you can have fun.

It amazes me how wrong information is spreading about solanpada. Being a local of solanpada I wish to post some facts firstly it is not a waterfall it is a baajar dam built by govt to provide water to 7 villages. A man from solapur died on 23/8/15 while trying to swim in this.it is now slowly but steadily contaminated by close to 2k drunks on this dam.non lisenced food stalls by villagers is another health scare. Brawls fights among drunk visitors is common. Go at your own risk.- well wishers

I agree with the above. This is not a safe place no police protection and safety measures are there in this dam. I am one of the person who has actually seen one person dying.

    Hi,

I have visited this place on 23-08-2015 and would not recommend it to anyone. It is really unsafe and risky. PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE… I have seen 2 people who just died it this dam in front of my eyes. One of the guy was saved by us but one just disappiered with in minutes. We tried to save him to but could not find him in the water. NOT SAFE for people as no Police security neither and life guard. Could not recommend it at all !!!!! REALLY UNSAFE PLACE AS THERE IS NO HELP AVAILABLE AND ITS 300 Feet deep also the water is fully muddy and can damage your skin and foot.

Please do not go this is not a story a real incident seen by myself.

Karjat is also popular for adventure sports like trekking, waterfall climbing, rappelling and river rafting in the Ulhas River. Morbe Dam, about 10 km west, is a good place for boating and the perimeter of the dam is popular for having a leisurely picnic.
